How did this go after changing it back to 10w30, did it solve your issue?

Nope I think I found the issue. The cam solenoids are super loose in the cam caps for some reason. Wasn't like that when 1st tuned was fine. So it's just bleeding off the oil pressure supply and also noticed sometimes oil pressure does weird fluctuations which I'd assume is that bleeding off also then building back up

So the cam error is the same on low boost and higher boost? Eg wot run, overlay the cam angle error and see if it's the same.

If it's worse on high boost then you likely have an oil supply or actuator problem as the higher the boost the more pressure/gain the actuator needs to shift the cam.

Issue is same no matter what boost setting is

If you run spring boost pressure only does the problem go away?

No. On low boost 7 psi it holds flat until the cam starts advancing then boost climbs with revs. On high boost 18 psi hold flat from 3000 rpmto 6200 rpm but power drops off aggressive when cam plays up. I am going to swap oil back to original 10w30 as besides turbo only other thing that is the only other thing changed to a 15w40

It's possible the oil feed to the VCT has been damaged or blocked. I've seen it before.

I would believe so if under normal loads wouldn't respond but it's only under full load above 4500 rpm everywhere else is fine

I've had a similar issue where the cams wouldn't respond at all and were locked at -10. I swapped the solenoids to no avail and the fix for me was swapping the phasers/gears.

They work fine with normal loads but under full load there dropping to low retard

What is the cam angle error on the datalog? Can you post a datalog.

Are you running stock cams and valve springs?

I will get a log. No faults crow springs bf turbo cams in fg gas motor. It was all tuned and fine before only thing that was changed was the turbo

  7. So car has been converted from na to turbo and been running fine since then I have upgraded the turbo and when we are trying to retune anything above 4500rpm cam control seems to be advancing itself and not responding to anything we tell it to do above 4500 under load. There are no faults at all and we tried another set of solenoids all no change

ZF shift table 27 from memory, remove all the highlighted downshift figures and it will just stay in whatever gear its in.

ive got mine setup something like this, so it wont ever downshift for you..... but it will upshift somewhere verry close to limiter. Just incase your reactions are to slow / rest your hand on the gearstick and move from performance to manual mode without realizing.

    cheers

    Awesome will definitely try that

Yes I think there is a table which has a kick down time delay per gear you are in. You could set this to a very high number. When I'm in the office I'll try and find it for you. It is in the ZF tune itself.

The only other optioned I've seen is play with output speeds in manual mode

your turbo smart controller is not going to know when your gear changing, its only going to see boost values, so its going to try keep you at a certain duity cycle.
when she changes gears it will pull timing to reduce power, inducing more boost a as by product.

The FG turbo ECM has those gear change values you can dial in no duty cycle so your gate is fully open on gear changes. this will help your situation.

as puff said, try lowering your spark cut on gear change, but keep in mind what other cuts the car will use..

FG na ecu looks to have around 0.5 as your trans shift modulation for spark cut. so if im reading this right it will pull up to 40 deg of spark, which will prob get you somewhere to your min spark clip of -15. not that i know what im doing, but ive been trying to keep my car from going into the negatives on gear changes with spark and it seems to help.

you may want to experiment by changing AUf0262 trans shift from 0.55 to 0.75/0.8. if you do that make sure you give it some ability to use cut in AUF0264 as shift is 0, maybe give it whatever you take from 262 - but dont take this as law, just something to play with and experiment with.

Awesome will give that a go. Yes you are correct with the eboost just trying to maintain the boost level, it does have capabilities of boost by gear and boost by rpm but for the effort for it to work with the fg ecu it would be cheaper and easier to convert to turbo ecu

  11. Hi I'm just wondering for manual mode in the zf can I completely eliminate kick down shifts via the tune just to help from killing the trans. I know there is a detent switch u can feel but would like to have more control without having to think about it

The spark and torque tables are probably not correct for the NA + T which has different compression.

It has all been tuned to suit all table etc are fine just cruise control is the only issue. Its like the throttle ratio to to maintain steady speed is to sensative

  13. We have converted fg to turbo using fg na ecu and everything is fine everywhere except cruise control. When activated mainly @80 and above the car hunts when it try's to maintain speed I can see the map values go for -10 to +2 when it hunts. Any help is appreciated
