  1. I did a bit of research and I think this should be achievable by playing with the engine speed torque limiters as well as some of the minimum spark reduction tables and scalars. I’ll have a play around and post up my results for anyone else trying to do the same thing. ps. I am testing on an na fg xr6 and once I get it working I’ll be trying again on an 05 ba xr8
  2. I've been trying to figure out if there's a table or something similar which will let me do a spark retard in P/N? I've only been able to do a spark retard to the mbt spark table so far. If there's no table, does anyone know a method to apply say -30 degrees at 4000rpm in n/p without using the multi-tune launch control feature? Cheers.
  3. I have tried reading in recovery mode using black oak 1472k and I get the following checksum error. Is this expected?
  4. Hey guys so I’ve got a 2004 xr8 that I’m having trouble reading the tune off or datalogging. This is the error I get. from what I’m told, the car has been tuned by herrod in melborne many years ago. Could it be possible that they used SCT and this is causing an error in pcmtec?
  5. Ok sweet. I used 5000 to start with but i've now changed to 8000. Would there be much of a difference in feel? I personally havent felt a difference in my NA fg. Should i also set these unlocks to 0 or should they be 8k too?
  6. Sorry to bring back an old thread. Looking at the table above, would i just need to change the number to 0 for no converter lockup or would i need to add a high number?
  7. Hey im not sure which of these fixed the problem but these are the throttle related parameters on my latest file. I was having an issue where WOT was only going to 76 degrees but it's now going to 82 degrees which is great. Have a play around and see which parameters work for you. If these dont work you might have a wiring/plug problem. You can also try matching some of the speed density tables from the fg stock file if you still have issues Fg manifold on bf.xml
  8. So I’ve got an update, I still haven’t found the problem but here’s what I’ve done so far: new spark plugs, new coils, new lifters, new vct solenoids, new throttle body, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, replaced injectors with known working ones, new cam angle sensor (exhaust side), new catalytic converter. what else can I try replacing or data logging to help me find this issue?
  9. I ended up getting the cat replaced but im still having the issue. I've attached a datalog of it05-02-2024 01-33-25 PM Log.teclog I'm booked in to get a new motor on thursday since i think my problem is valve springs but im not sure how to be certain
  10. I was wondering what parameters i can datalog to see if i have a blockage in my exhaust. Basically whats happening is my fg na xr6 feels low on power and when you drive at WOT, it starts to really run out of power over 4000 rpm and doesn't go over 4800rpm. If you leave it on WOT, it will even start to drop rpm and if i stop immediately after to an idle, it will stall. I get the same issue when in park I tried logging the o2 temp for b1 and b2 thinking there might be a difference in temperature between the 2 sensors but it was not significant enough. My idea was that B1 would be much hotter than B2 if the cat was blocked. i did see the cat temp reach 830 degrees celcius but no higher. I also logged MAP at WOT where my engine is hitting an rpm "limit" to see if my pressure goes too far from 0 BAR but that wasn't the case. Are there any other parameters i can datalog to help show what the issue could be?
  11. Do you work out the multiplication by getting new regulator pleasure (4) minus the old regulator pressure (2.7)? also that kit you shared… do I just replace my rear 02 sensor with the wideband and then run the wires into the car through the firewall grommet hole thing and use their meter to connect to the sensor and send the data to the tuning laptop? Cheers
  12. FullSizeRender.MOV Here’s a video kinda showing what happens when In park. I am flat foot when revving and I let go once the engine is resisting. You can also see it stall and struggle to start again after letting go of the pedal
  13. Hey i done this swap not long ago to my NA bf xr6. Pretty much compare your tune to an na fg stratergy and copy over all the relevant parameters. If you're using the injectors from the fg, also remember to change those values over too. I've attached a parameter file of all the changes i've made. Use this to compare with to get yourself out of trouble if you find the car still wont start. I'm using the fg intake manifold, fg maf sensor, fg throttle body and fg injectors. BF to FG intake manifold.xml
  14. Hi I've recently had a problem with my na fg xr6 zf6. Since having this issue i've returned the car to stock tune and put new spark plugs in. The issue started after running 3 passes down the quater mile. I suspect my spark limiter at 6k caused the issue when i was doing my burnout, however running the same limiter on other cars i've had never caused a problem. When i'm driving on WOT, the car drives great until 4k rpm where it will start to loose power to the point where it almost feels like it is on limiter. If i hold my foot down the revs will start to drop and the car will shudder violently. If i shift while this is happening, the car will thud into the next gear. When the car is in park it idles well. If i rev it to 3k and let go, it goes back to a good idle. If i try to rev it over 4k, it feels like there's a limiter and when i let go, the idle becomes so rough the car stalls if i dont keep revving to keep it on. Once it stalls it takes about 4-7 tries with pedal persuasion to get it started again. after around 30-40 seconds, the idle goes back to being good. Anyone experienced this before or know what it could be? I have a feeling it could be bad valve springs but i have no idea how to confirm this. I tried looking for a way to datalog oil pressure to see if something funny is happening on idle. My idea is this will show me if the lifters are getting clogged up when i see an increase in oil pressure and seeing the pressure drop once the car regains proper idle. I tried "engine oil pressure guage" but i dont think this was showing me oil pressure.
  15. Ahh ok that makes sense. I had a feeling it was a turbo but I didn’t trust my knowledge enough. I saw on the stock file list that under “charged” it said no. Is there anywhere I can find a more accurate list of stock strategies and what they come out of or not really? I’m trying to get away with a budget on this one so I’m not copying anything over that is too drastically different. One thing though is I still can’t get the shift fart from the zf even after making the zf trans torque limit tables more negative but that’s a different topic.
