  1. My Goal with this was to have coverage for every major vehicle manufacturer without having to have any sort of license or subscription for the softwares. Easier said than done, as there are not many forscan type programs out there that are equal to or as better than the manufacturers diagnostic software. I have however stumbled upon a few gems, such as MMCCodingWriter for Mitsubishi and CaesarSuite for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles, but I wouldn't consider them as nearly as safe to use as Forscan.

    I know there is WinALDL, and PCMHammer for GM/LS1 vehicles, does anyone know of any Forscan-like software for other manufacturers?

  2. Is there any appetite out there for a ready-made windows 10 image for Tuning/Diagnostics? I am putting one together using mainly open source stuff trying to cover a large portion of vehicles. Currently has PCMTec, FORScan Beta, ELMConfig, FoCCCus, PCM Hammer, IPC Hammer,  RomRaider, ECU-edit, ECU-Flash, + other OBD2/J2534 diagnostic software + FG Workshop Manuals + Circuit Diagrams, and Ford VCM2, Mongoose & Tactrix J2534 drivers.

    Will make it available online as a .iso file if anyone is interested?

    The 100 - 102kPa you mention in the scanner is absolute pressure.

    2 Bar MAP = Absolute pressure 0 -> 200kPa

    2 Bar Boost = Gauge Pressure -100 -> 100kPa

    gauge pressure and absolute pressure are scientific terms, google them. What will15 said, the atmospheric pressure at your location is just 96kpa, so you are not at sea level, you are much higher, as there is less pressure from the atmosphere pushing down on you

  4. I have heard OBDLink make a good quality one that will work with all of forscan's functions. That obd2australia one should be called obd2china, Forscan also advises to avoid ones using the word Forscan in their marketing too.

    Pick which ones you want and ill set it up for you, likely against terms and conditions of forum to solicit paid work from here but I really want an old 30 pin plug ipod, swaps info for ipod/cool stuff?

  6. You dont need a decent scanner, you just need to set your bluetooth dongle up so that it can send on the Diagnostic CAN id of the PCM, and recieve its response. so in your obd app, you wanna send on Id/header 7E0 - that is 0x7E0 a hexadecimal number, and to recieve a response on can id 0x7E8 from the pcm. You need to look up Service 0x22 ReadDataByLocalD or similar. google UDS Diagnostics to get an idea. Torque pro has all the general ford extended PIDs so maybe look into that app. sorry its friday night cbf more detail

  7. yeah nah well f*** oh I see. I kind of meant you may have to figure them out yourself. L-earn them. And believe it or not I think they were posted on this very forum not long ago. Look into how to request data from the ecu in a manner that is done not via OBD2 typical modes 1-10, as these only really deal with emissions stuff. go a bit deeper.

    ooooooowwwwwaaaa. Is there an application where this would be safe at all other than a naturally aspirated vehicle? Im guessing its as a last line of defence if pressure relief valve or wastegate fail
