hey guys, my name is daniel.
i am from the central coast of new south!

i am currently putting all the parts together for a N/A turbo build.
then i thought.. instead of having it blow up on a dyno.. why dont i road tune it myself (plus learning it very fun!)

so the plan is to use everything stock from a B series falcon, besides 7PSi waste gate pressure.

    im using a stock gt3582R from a FG F6
    stock B b series manifold
stock intercooler an piping (considering buying something slighter larger)
    4 bar fuel reg
    xr6T manifold sensor.
    stock xr6t exhaust

    my questions here are...
(i have done limited searching on this)
can i use a stock XR6T tune? > then build an play around with that (people said no i cant, on facebook groups)
"just give it to a tuner an he will work his magic" - id rather blow it up knowing what i did.. then  guessing somebody elses work"

where is the best place to start in regards to watching videos on PCMtec editing an understanding ?
i have the zf6.. can i get away with out tuning the box, or is it worth tuning

my end goal is.. great drivability an id like to get at maximum.. 230 rwkw

    Hey mate,

I'm in Sydney, I've done a few NA/T conversions and have a decent idea of what to do, PM me if you want some help, i have a portable wideband and knock ears ready to go, I've just been road tuning them, obviously a dyno it better but for the on the budget builds I've done, getting them good on the street and leaving them a bit rich and a bit retarded they last and go pretty well. Heat soak will be a issue will the stock cooler

  2. It'd be trying to trim to stoich. If the o2 sensor isn't working correctly it'll do weird stuff. When you log fuel source it says open loop correct? Just want to make sure its definitely in open loop. 3 or 4 bar fuel reg? Injector scaling correct for your fuel pressure?

  3. Hi everyone,

So i bought a set of kpm 1500cc injectors and put the "plug and play" data for BA/BF/FG including the deadtime offsets. The trims were way off. I know it not unheard of at all to have data not work 100% but i had to make pretty massive changes to data that is meant to be close for a falcon. Base fuel pressure 4 Bar on the GFB fuel reg. I used all the 4 bar data that KPM gave me. I'm just asking to see if this is what other people have gotten? I don't think i have a mechanical issue, but this is giving me doubt's. I had to really richen the high slope.

I'm a novice tuner, i've done my best to learn and follow guides.

    Thanks

  4. Yeah there is I'm sure, couldn't tell you what you need to change off the top of my head. There is a torque converter lockup threshold. The "overdrive" is just the torque converter locking up. You can lower the lockup threshold so it'll unlock once it produces more then a certain amount of torque. I'm not sure if that's what you want to achieve

  5. With the 12psi actuator, even with the Wastegate duty cycle zeroed, you'll see around 12psi of boost. I can see you still have stock fuel injectors installed. These won't really be enough for even 12psi of boost safely. You still have a fair amount of DC for the wastegate, i'm sure that'll see closer to 20psi, way too much. Also the desired boost table is to high (almost 30psi). Please get a set of injectors at least if you want to run around 12-15psi. You may run into valve float issues as well.

You'll have to rescale the BLK and MBT tables as you'll probably max out the 1.7 load at over 12psi. also pull timing up top for high boost levels.

  6. HI,

I was just thinking about using the PWM output for the waste gate to control a SSR to run the fuel pumps. This is just a brainstorming thing for me. I have 2 walbro 460's and they draw heaps of power and flow to much for my fuel pressure reg. They also melt the wiring and connectors that KPM supply with the intank surge tank. I'd prefer not to have to cut up and make a new connector for the module but i probably will have to.  It'd be nice to run them at low power when off boost. Anyone know the frequency output of the signal? I know it's probably more pain than what it's worth or i could run a standalone controller with a pressure switch.

And yes i know i should upgrade my pressure reg and get rid of the crappy KPM module but i'm over spending money on it for a bit and thought i may be able to do something different

    Thanks

    P.S i use a standalone boost controller

  7. Hi all,

I'm having a misfire issue with my G6ET. It has a random misfire sometimes on cyl 1 or 3 (unplugging  coil packs to find dead cylinder). It'll drive and not misfire at all them all of a sudden complete drop a cylinder dead. Does this for a couple seconds upto around a minute then comes good again. Does this pretty much everyday at random times, seems worse when hot but will do it cold as well. I've put a few different coil packs in/swapping them around, and a fresh set of plug in. It came good for a couple days but then back to been weird again. there is a code for Coil circuit A malfunction. I'm starting to think maybe the ECU has failing coil drivers :( Anyone had this issue?

    Thanks
