Traction control?

Recommended Posts

So I am looking to access some more of the traction control parameters. I have already shut off the throttle as a way to reduce torque and that was a great improvement. But Im interested in accessing the slip threshold to activate TC and how aggressively it cuts power. There is a lot to gain here and I was hoping to see these parameters available with PCMTec. Anyone have any insight on this? Are they there and I am not seeing them?

Which parameter did you change to shut the throttle off? I can likely backtrace this to find out if there is anymore data available on how to truncate the torque via spark etc.

The slip angle will certainly be in the ABS module itself however, you will be able to adjust the traction control truncation, but I doubt you'll be able to change the "trigger" as that is sent via canbus from the ABS module. So depending on how this is configured will be the limiting factor.

@Roland@pcmtec how difficult would it be to repurpose a mapped point torque table with a custom OS to use as a "tuneable traction control table"? When it hits traction control it can reference values from mapped point 26 to reduce the power to stop the car from spinning and when it stops spinning it can return to normal. Maybe also a scalar that you can change the amount of time it stays active after a traction event and maybe a power ramp to ramp the power back in.

So I did this in HPTuners its 44814 Desired airmass for traction control, 44775 fuel cut torque ratio, and 33458 Spark cut torque ratio. I have yet to find these in PCMTec but i havent looked much cause I already adjusted this in HPT. This makes a big difference in improving traction control. Its still will limit hard acceleration with sticky tires as it kicks in much too early but it limits power by ignition and fuel so its immediate and not overbearing.
