  1. Thanks for the response everybody!

I realised even with staff discount 20 litres of gulf western is cheaper then 12 litres penrite BMV so I've decided I'll opt for gulf western. Syn TS an do the sealing sleeves, bridge connector an what not just to see if there any improvement

I've also attached a video, that's another box I picked up for $450. Anybody got knowledge if that front shaft should be like that? I've asked a few people I've gotten a mixed answers. Box has 128km on it.

  2. thanks guys!!
just playing around with tunes at the moment. kinda chucking stuff at the wall an seeing what sticks posted a photo below which was taken yesterday, comparing the "wear data"

seems that its cut one of them in half. unsure what is going on.
before i install the old box i have sitting around. im gonna try do the sleeves an bridge seal. see if that has any benefit on the wear numbers (or in fact its truely toasted)
an fill it up with Penrite BMV (36 dollars for 4 litres via work)

  3. hey all. i had a fiddle around with the logger an found "adaptations" on the forum.

from my uneducated guess. clutch E is pretty much toast, the rest are "okay" after going a quick google... on beemer forums they say that a box will still function under 700mbar
after 326km on the box. i understand that wear is gonna be happening regardless.

i havent logged line pressure as of yet.. does anybody know the actual ZF DMR is for the trans pressure lines?

  4. @Roland@pcmtec i have not.  i have spoken to a builder who also tunes. he said at the pressure its bumped upto (1.5 bar over standard) that it should be pretty hard kicking into gear. which its not. he said, dont bump it up anymore.

but its maybe worth logging the pressure i guess. trying to understand the logger is bloody hard!

  5. hey lads. just an update. i have bumped up the line pressure. its deffs done something right.
currently in the process of looking at how much a new box will be (3k rebuilt) including TC service.

in the meantime. im gonna have a go at dropping the pan, doing the valvebody sleeves/bridge seal/meca sleeve, new filter an some zf oil in it!

  6. hey yall.

currently trying to band aid an issue with my box (i have a 2nd box laying around) but trying to get max life (plus learning as i go)
out of curiosity. has anybody played with transmission line pressure? eg if i was to increase 6th gear would it help holding it in gear?
its  6th gear is slipping an then it trys to shift backwards an goes into limp mode it gives me an incorrect gear ratio 6.
just thought i would post up on the group incase another person is having an issue they may be able to learn also.

attached is 6th gear line pressure i have added .5 (nothing has been flashed in as of yet)
also have added 0.1 across the board from 2500 onwards  with shift pressure 6>5,5>4>4>3

TCM Hardware is listed as being the same in both cars. I believe the TCM software/calibration in Tear Tag A5AE was superseded by the TCM calibration listed on Tear Tag A7AA.
Even if it didn't match, you can flash the new TCM with your current TCM calibration

    thanks alot bill :)

  8. hey all, i have a issue with my box. looks like ill be replacing it soon.
just wanted to ensure this is correct.

make TCM file/cal from my box, put box in, flash my current tcm cal/file into the new box. an bobs ya uncle

    both boxes are from BF
ones a fairlane an the other is a base model XT (i know i will need to also reprogram the abs module using forscan)

  9. hey lads. i ended up finding out a mate had just brought a BF MKII zf6 turbo so i used his tear code A5GF an his OSID is HACCK.
it worked. but problem is matching ABS.
ive tried forscan, with no success. matching the ABS.

my NA ABS is 04,01,01. i only have the NA abs modules/v8  no turbo ones are on there.
im using the open port 2.0

Bf falcon na running 7 psi

Using all stock turbo parts an most of stock tune Im trying to figure out what part of the timing Map I need to change.

I've changed the fuel mapping as required

People are mostly saying .8 to +1 or is it across the road ?

After looking at the old tune the other day, you can see it doesn't have stock injector data in it.

I didn't look further to see what else will be causing the trims to be out as you didn't mention it then.

probs something i should have mentioned to you,
im going to wait until i flash the new tune in, an then go from there. as the tune was very average to say the least.

  12. hey lads. currently tuning my NA+T BF MKII

have restored 99% of stuff back to stock that had been changed for no reason at all on the tune.
using the stock turbo injectors. an the turbo data

    Breakpoint 0.00000939999972615624
    High Slope   0.00929140020161867
    Low Slope   0.0135736996307969
    4bar bosch fuel reg.

I have an old Toshiba laptop that I resurrected from a cupboard a few weeks ago & whilst it was a great machine when it was new, when I compare it to my current machine, I really don't know how I used it haha. Another thing to keep in mind is the battery life of the old Toshiba. You could easily spend an hour or more out datalogging, making changes, flashing & datalogging again. My old Toshiba only lasts about 15-20 minutes without power connected. Someone else might be using a lower spec machine that can advise how it performs datalogging.

    thanks bill!!
i do have a brand new battery for it.i can deffs understand that  datalogging an such has a heavy impacts on the battery

  14. thanks bill.

    my laptop is:
    Toshiba satellight L650
    Intel Core i5-400 Series
    4 GB RAM
    window 10 upgraded from 7

im sure its capable of datalogging, but would be slow to do it.

  15. thanks for that roland.

i have done a DTC scan forscan an nothing has popped up.
    process of elimination
    genuine coils
genuine ford plugs gapped to .7mm
    replacing OEM delphi fuel pump
    fuel filter
has new 4 bar bosch reg
anything you care to add for this weird  thing goin on

im doing above to rule out the complete basic's of fuel an spark.
i hoping it will not be valve springs, as low as 2psi it starts to happen.
somebody suggested "air load" could that be the same as KPA reading on forscan?

  16. "comes into boost, feels like a misfire but it feels like it hits a wall, when its warming upto operating temp (5-7 mins of driving) after 20-35mins it starts to feel like its hitting a wall. (starts doing it from about 2000rpm when it comes into boost, as low as 2psi anything over that it just hits a wall) it has no crappy idle. afterwards or anything. in vaccum it drives like a dream"
