Run the required timing and fuel and throttle settings in one map to create antilag and then have a momentary switch to activate it.

I wonder if you could also do some zf solenoid control so it'd be in neutral on an antilag map then go into gear on the normal map?

Something like the Ac pressure input, steal that to activate the antilag map? well for me anyway because the car in question has no ac.

  2. @Roland@pcmtec I was going to put in some 42 Lb F6 injectors into the ba+t ................. but if we have flex options coming up ill put the gear i had for the RB25 into the Ba - 1000cc Xspurts and the nistune supplied ethanol sensor which i believe outputs 0-5v as required....ill be keen to test and be the BA guinea pig.

  3. Flex fuel sounds great, will a ba ecu Handel the twin O2 inputs?

would you still have to swap maps for 98/e85 with something like the Nguadge?

or can you use the second 02 input to perhaps alter fueling, maybe adjust the baseline coolant-temp compensation table with ethanol is detected to add extra fuel? and same with the Air temp perhaps to trick it into more timing by making eth have a negative effect on temp - so going into positive timing adjustments?

anyway im sure you guys have a smart way to do and im keen to hear about it - see the results - sounds verry interesting!

I don't see why you would have to. I licensed an already tuned hp tuners file.

In saying that, in the past, when swapping flash tuning devices you would want to start from stock to ensure that you know exactly what has been changed.

With how extensive pcmtec is I think that they would have all of the parameters and more that other tuning solutions have.

I would still start from a blank slate tho and use the parameter importing feature to knock most of it out.

I also licence'd a previously touched HP-TUNERS file without issue.

The Ba turbo tune was loaded tot he Ba NA ecu with HPtuners, when loading it in PCMTECH it would show the na values as stock - i just used the BA Turbo PCMTECH file to compare and made my own notes on the differences, before proceeding with testing things.

I think you will only run into trouble trying to get a locked file, i believe PCMTECH and hptuners can lock the files on the ecu now, so if your tuner does this you cant pull down the file, you would have to do a full stock revert on the ecu before being able to modify the file. - i could be wrong here tho, its just how i understand it.

There are about 950 in total and no easy way to know what they are from. We will build up a list of ~20 or so that shows BA,BF,FG and the different models to give people something to work from.

In the mean time here are a few to get you started:

    I6

    HAAT0V6 / A3VA 4.0L BA F6 Manual 2004 (Extra VCT controls)

    HACCKU6 / A5UJ 4.0L BF 2007  NA Automatic
    HACCKV4 / A7VD 4.0L BF 2007  NA Automatic LPG

    HAEDJG4 / B8GJ 4.0L FG F6 2008 Automatic

    HAER1UB / UEAB 4.0L FGX Sprint 2016 (all automatics)

    V8s

    HABN9L2 / A3LA 5.4L BA GT Automatic

    HADCEE3 /B5EC 5.4L BF 2005 Automatic
    HADCEF3 / B5FC 5.4L BF 2005 Manual

    HAFDDR8 / B8RF 5.4L FG  2008 Automatic
    HAFDDS7 / B8SF 5.4L FG  2008 Manual

    HAFFBD2 / B0DF 5.0L FG Supercharged Manual

    HAFK0XB / XEAB 5.0L FGX Sprint 2016 Auto

    HAFK0VA,/ VEAA 5.0L FGX Sprint 2016 Manual

I recommend using the built in "create stock file" wizard to view these files, this guarantees you have our latest templates. We are going to stop updating that zip file manually soon.

    Hi Team,

Do you have a stock file for the "FG F6 310" ? Apparently these are the ones that come with the High Performance 440CC injectors

    Cheers,

  8. Hey,

When you open your tune file, all the menus under the "Navigator/File information" (Left window) relate to that file <main file>

Now when you open a compare file, you will get the prompt. If you select yes you will only be show different table under the compare menu.

    qUESTION.thumb.png.62afffe575f1ae2cad1742cc7ad3ab8b.png

Now the compare menu is under Change History, this will now be your furthest right heading....

As you can see it shows you in basic terms whats different from file to file.

In my case its only show's sections that are different as i clicked yes, if you select no you will get everything.

    88474179_CHANGEHISTORY.thumb.png.78abf41fff6014c1af80864fde197c7e.png

Now if you jump back to the left area and select a table you want to play with

For instance the fuel base - you can see next to history you can now select your tune / stock tune or the compare file.

You can only have one of these open at a time, but whitch-ever is open is the active one.

    1542250632_mAINECU.thumb.png.000f92e982d13d59e07820e70e5f3015.png

if you select your compare file - then select APPLY it will write the data from that file to your main file.

so that is one way to copy data from another tune file.

obviously you would need to save / upload to your car etc etc.

    cheers, christian

  9. Hi Roland,

i think Im getting my head around and apologizes for all the messages.

Apparently the BA turbo MAP is a 250 KPA unit, so able to measure roughly 19 PSI of positive pressure. I allways thought being a "2bar" map they were only able to read 14.7 positive pressure.

auF0306 from my understanding this is positive atmospher pressure, as it has a reference table atmosphere pressure in auF0311.

So with a setting of around 20.5 INHG - we would be targeting 10PSI.

Given auF0296  is not referencing this table,  40INHG needs roughly 29.9INHG removed for atmospheric P, giving us 10.1INHG that works out to be roughly 4.9PSI difference to activate Torque limitations.

If that is the case, changing this number to 34INHG should give us roughly a 2PSI setting for over-boost and torque limitations.

Hopefully im closer to the mark now, just getting myhead around it before doing any real world testing.

  10. auF0306 - The desired boost pressure
All fields set to 12, the car will be run around 10psi. Set all fields the same, figgured no stock control so no need to blend figgures?

    auF0309 - Wastegate FMEM Torque Reduction = 0.63 (Stock)
When in Failure Mode Effects Management (FMEM) for overboost, this is the percentage of torque reduction requested

auF0261 - Tourque other cut limitsCut
    auF0262 - Spark tourque limit
Presume its "ETC FMEM - RPM Guard" for these 2 fields? both of these are set to default.

auF0296 - Overboost required for open loop duty cycle = -40 (standard)

So if the car goes over 3 INHG over 12Psi it will go into defence of CLOSED LOOP boost control.
If the car goes over 40inhg closed loop remains on however tourque protection is enabled.

If 3inhg is 1.47 PSI, 40 inhg is 19.6 psi, does that mean no tourque protection is aplied till 19+12?
i hope my math is out because i dont think the BA/BF sensor can even read that high.

Ideally id like it to enter protection at 14Psi, i think the MAP sensors only good for 14.7Psi anyway.

Hello. When using an external boost controller you can leave everything enabled, just simply disable the DTC high and low limits. Check out these parameters:

    image.png.d2e2c96535d8b6971a0abccaf558592b.png

set auF2279 and auF2150 to "No Error" to disable the DTC. You can also set the fault time filter constant as well.

What is the reason for using an external boost controller? The build in one works very well in open loop mode. In the FGs the closed loop mode is excellent as well.

    Howdy

its a NA ecu so it does not have the plug for the boost controller.

I ran it with just actuator pressure, however it started building to much boost after 4k - so im installing an external gate and just going to run spring pressure on that.

Is there a tourque cut / spark cut when engine reaches a desired boost level, or MAP voltage?

  12. Howdy.

When using an external wastegate / external control method to control boost, is there an ECU option to disable ECU boost control? (its a NA ecu anyway so it does not have the control wiring).

I just set table - auF0306 with my target boost.

Does the Ba ECU have an over-boost / MAP voltage cut system for setting a cut for over-boost situations?
