Yortt Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 IHP Tuners will not read boost by gear with the PCMtec upgrade boost by gear tune changes, are there any other parts of the PCMtec tune it will not read also? Quote
Darryl@pcmtec Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 HP Tuners design is such that they are limited to what they know the parameters should be. Also be aware if you try and flash a Custom OS into the car that is is not licensed for the car will not start or run. Quote
Yortt Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 Darryl, If I understand correctly if some one with HP Tuners only reads the the tune (PCMtec 2012 xr6T boost by gear custom operating system) it opens given it recognises the sprint operating system, they license it and write to the boost by gear map and it is not writing to the PCMtec boost by gear map the concern is where is it writing to, it may be changing parameters in an unwanted area. It appears the boost by gear map is not in the same location in the tune as it is with the standard sprint tune. Quote
Roland@pcmtec Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Our boost by gear works completely differently to how the sprint works. We would not recommend trying to edit tables with HPTuners after writing our custom operating system, we have no control over how they modify the calibration which could cause issues with the vehicle depending on what they do. Our Custom OS includes extra checksums which they will not be reading or updating, along with lots of extra code and tables which they also will not know how to modify correctly. What is reason you need to use HPTuners at all? Quote
