  1. My Goal with this was to have coverage for every major vehicle manufacturer without having to have any sort of license or subscription for the softwares. Easier said than done, as there are not many forscan type programs out there that are equal to or as better than the manufacturers diagnostic software. I have however stumbled upon a few gems, such as MMCCodingWriter for Mitsubishi and CaesarSuite for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles, but I wouldn't consider them as nearly as safe to use as Forscan. I know there is WinALDL, and PCMHammer for GM/LS1 vehicles, does anyone know of any Forscan-like software for other manufacturers?
  2. The Ford VCMII VCI Software is available from ford and the manufacturer: Software for Ford VCM II | Latest Version IDS Download (dealerconnection.com) | Ford Dealership downloads Why the ford website has a version much much older than the manufacturer, I don't know. If you're not using IDS I would recommend the latest version.
  3. and if you do that, you get PEWPEPEPEPEPEPEPEPEWPEWPEWPEPOPPOPPOP
  4. Will find somewhere to upload and post link, will be this weekend or next.
  5. Is there any appetite out there for a ready-made windows 10 image for Tuning/Diagnostics? I am putting one together using mainly open source stuff trying to cover a large portion of vehicles. Currently has PCMTec, FORScan Beta, ELMConfig, FoCCCus, PCM Hammer, IPC Hammer, RomRaider, ECU-edit, ECU-Flash, + other OBD2/J2534 diagnostic software + FG Workshop Manuals + Circuit Diagrams, and Ford VCM2, Mongoose & Tactrix J2534 drivers. Will make it available online as a .iso file if anyone is interested?
  6. Spraying water/alcohol mix into intake has sole purpose of cooling the air charge down...denser air, more o2??
  7. There is plenty of emulator examples on github, https://github.com/Ircama/ELM327-emulator https://github.com/TheBigBadWolfClub/GTTurboEcu https://github.com/dogotic/ford_ecu_emulator
  8. I have that same habit, have to consciously remove foot, put on footrest, when it comes to the next shift my foot has already moved back there by itself. Thanks for that edit: not being able to do a burnout is a good thing for me
  9. Anyone who has done this willing to share their experience with regards to driveability for a daily / photos of switch? My muscle memory is so used to driving a certain way my first instinct is to lift my foot off the pedal when clutching in and I feel the torque/fuel cut happen. Will post mine when I attempt it. tRiaL aNd ErRoR
  10. gauge pressure and absolute pressure are scientific terms, google them. What will15 said, the atmospheric pressure at your location is just 96kpa, so you are not at sea level, you are much higher, as there is less pressure from the atmosphere pushing down on you
  11. 96 kPa with the engine off likely means you are reading atmospheric pressure in the absolute form, as opposed to kPa gauge which is gauge pressure, where 0 starts at atmospheric pressure which is typically around 101 kPa-absolute.
  12. because the vehicle is NA - Not Aspirating
  13. They can do it quicker and better with this software as Ford and Rolando have already done all the hard yards.
  14. Does this mean I'm getting an ipod?200304PIDs (1).pdf
  15. I have heard OBDLink make a good quality one that will work with all of forscan's functions. That obd2australia one should be called obd2china, Forscan also advises to avoid ones using the word Forscan in their marketing too.
  16. Service station attendants also like to forget to tighten the dip point caps when taking the daily tank levels on sites that dont have digital tank gauges, so dont fill up after a flood!

  18. You dont need a decent scanner, you just need to set your bluetooth dongle up so that it can send on the Diagnostic CAN id of the PCM, and recieve its response. so in your obd app, you wanna send on Id/header 7E0 - that is 0x7E0 a hexadecimal number, and to recieve a response on can id 0x7E8 from the pcm. You need to look up Service 0x22 ReadDataByLocalD or similar. google UDS Diagnostics to get an idea. Torque pro has all the general ford extended PIDs so maybe look into that app. sorry its friday night cbf more detail
  19. nah bluetooth dongle will do it
  20. yeah nah well f*** oh I see. I kind of meant you may have to figure them out yourself. L-earn them. And believe it or not I think they were posted on this very forum not long ago. Look into how to request data from the ecu in a manner that is done not via OBD2 typical modes 1-10, as these only really deal with emissions stuff. go a bit deeper.
  21. Google How to Sniff The Bus
  22. What if an AI could do it for you? I wonder if theres anything out there like that.
  23. ooooooowwwwwaaaa. Is there an application where this would be safe at all other than a naturally aspirated vehicle? Im guessing its as a last line of defence if pressure relief valve or wastegate fail
  24. I had no such luck on Debian Bullseye 11, just will not work. Whiteford help me fix pls.
