  1. haha no. adds to much ducking around to the limited amount of testing time i get. I can tell you that the last lot of settings ive had in the car have been in there a couple of weeks and just the other day on a 2-3rd change it did a perfect fg style shift burble - but i haven't been able to recreate it since, nor was i data lodging at the time so i have no idea what it did. that was with spark cut at .8 and other cuts at .5 and enleanment at .78. i think he trick is getting the car doing a rich enleanment and then injector cuts, but with the b series there is no consistent way to get it in that sweet spot every time.
  2. after reading Roland's thread id take a different route. the Auf0181 from the ba v8 file i have is basically 1's, but if you compare it to a turbo terry there a big difference. .5 might be a bit drastic...but it might be ok to testing. perhaps you can start of the file at 1.2 in the first two rows then go to 0.8 in the third col (16) and test that, at least then it wont run to rich right of the button. see TT file attached. auF0180 for your commanded lambda during cranking at the temp you mentioned is 1 - so you can change it here or in the other table.
  3. try playing with auf0181, crank fuel multiplier. im no expert here but im sure if you added .5 lambda points to the entire map under say 30 pid events then your going to notice something during starting.
  4. ok, so for trans shift if we set spark to a high number, say .9 and above and give it full authority over other cuts aka 1. set the enleanment to 1.75 and disabled throttle cut. car verry slowly revs down with no noises. not fast enough for the zf and no noises. set the enleanment to rich, my case .88, no throttle cuts, will make a hecken antilag style backfire on gearshift and once again not be fast enough to tq reduce. set enleanment to to super rich .75 just increases the backfire noises. so that was a fun experement. in short i dont think we can have it. haha.
  5. allright, finally data lodged. on the brake stalling up, torque source will quickly change from driver demand to trans tourque trunk. now changing spark to 0 and other requests to 1 as well as disabling the ETC...car will stall-up, but starts pushing through the brake as soon as it starts building boost 1-2psi. with log we can see its requesting torque cut but nothing is occuring. this is for a turbo territory, auf1338 tq reduction set to stock of 1 (other cuts only)...no good. changed to 3 so it will use spark cut then other cuts. same situation, on the brake stalling up...as tq reduction cuts in pretty quickly. at .8 tourque spark was around 10, at .46 it was -6. you see spark retards down to a max of around -6.7 deg and i can get higher in the rev range and build much more boost (saw around 7psi) in the future ill play with auF0263 (spark retard for tq request) and see if we can get it to clip to the max of -15 deg and add more fuel in the hole. i know you can do this in the cruise control activated stuff, but for now im having fun playing without that. cheers.

    Carb Barra

give it a go and see if it works, i mean in theory there no reason why that wont work. pitty fg turbo intakes have become worth more a falcon to buy , as they are nice perfect mount point for a carby.
  7. i like to have my manual shift pattern have a shift point close to redline. I used to have a habbit of holding the gear shifter, when its in S and you move it slightly it will go into M mode and more times than id like to admit i smashed redline thinkin i was in S but was in M. on a side note ive stopped holding the shifter now.
  8. @Roland@pcmtec given the pcm with use enleanment then fuel cut, instead of setting enleanment rich as has been suggested for safety, could you go right the other way and set it to something like 1.9 effectively causing an injector cut quicker?
  9. less spark retard, higher number. more fuel/throttle cuts higher number. i think i needed to get my head around that one first. i have been thinking they act the same way.
  10. spark retard yes. i was trying to see if i could reduce spark retard on gearshift to see if it helped the boost stay stable during gearshift. running gate and 0 wastage dc i dont see a spike but when i envove boost control i allways manage to get 1.5/2psi over commanded during gearshift event, but run commanded boost otherwise. interesting turbo terry has for trans shift modulation a 0 in other cuts and 0.5 in spark. the fg one i looked at says 0.7 in other and 0.5 in spark. i tried it in mine and driving normally you couldn't notice anything. using manual shift under power definitely evoked the throttle body as the boost would drop - on a side not it did not like that at all. just having fun playing around.
  11. 42lb or f6 injectors are a good upgrade if your only keeping boost lowish and petrol fuels. personally id aim for the 600 or so cc range that will pretty much effectively cover whatever the stock turbos going to give you. do not forget the fuel pump, walbro 255 wont require you to upgrade or modify the fuel pressure regulator. with the turbo terry, its super easy to cut out the mid muffler. id recommend a high flow cat and replace the mid muffler with a hot dog resonator. get rid of the top mount, they pretty much do nothing after the first on boost gear-change (from a standstill mine used to be about 80 deg by the time it was in 2nd gear and after fitting the front mount the air charge is only few degrees above ambient temp). at this point you might want to port your rear housing and fit a 7-9 psi actuator. you may find loading the f6 tune and trying to get it to command 12/13psi through the top end your actuator might not have enough preload if stock. my terry has done a 12.9 quarter with the f6 terry timing maps and 14 psi boost. puffs terry is insane he has that thing making some serious sauce.
  12. over here in flat shifting post, Rolland explains the torque requesting tables the other way. "In the example of rev limit it will compare the 0.6 to the value in auF0262 (which is 0.8) The PCM will then take the maximum of the two numbers and only provide 0.8 torque reduction via spark (eg it will limit spark retard to only a 20% reduction whilst in engine speed limiting)." so if we are trying to limit the spark cut on gearchange, are we changing auF0262 7 from 0.5 to a higher number, or lower number.
  13. couldn't you do that on 1000cc injectors on e85 ? i mean might come dam close to maxing out.
  14. is there a table to view how much fuel is added for cat/turbo/exhaust overtemp protection? just fixed the wideband and noticed last night while launching from a standstill the afrs were perfect 1-2 gears, then in 3rd gear it would hold 0.05 lambada units more than commanded. Happened twice, so might need to pull out the logger.
  15. @JETURBO pulling ya leg of course, i love the photos you put up in that tuning thread, allways the cleanest cars after they have been near you.
  16. He spends to much time cleaning customer cars for those #instragram carporn posts, not sure he even tunes.
  17. have you read jets thread on xr6turbo? sometime he puts out some wisdom, but as a tuner they aren't going to tell you what they have spent hours finding out, not for free anyway. https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/84077-jets-tuning-oh-no/page/193/?tab=comments#comment-1683202
  18. id like to update the vin on the new pcm before licencing it... but looks like to do that i need the old file to run the calabration/merge wizzard. ill wait for Rolland to chime in.
  19. Yes it is. the replacement is apparently from a ute. its still a3jc / abu-251 / eeofa 4h253 / 3r23-12a650-ajc
  20. i have a dead ba boss ecm, so i cannot read it. i was hoping i could generate a STD image file and manually enter in the VIN however im having no luck. the OLD pcm says A3JA / ABU-251 / EE0FA 4A313 / 3R23-12A650-AJA on the sticker. i havent had any luck input these details to generate stock file, what might i be doing wrong?
  21. Turns out the fg gearbox n ecu near me for sale is an FGX one. Dang.
  22. Le old internet telling me bf stuffups, hence why i thought id come here and ask the experts. So bf ecu can read zf gearbox speed input no issues
  23. engine is NA PCM will be used from the trans. questions more relation the VSS in the gearbox, as at this stage im not keen on adding external hall-efect sensor to the tail-shaft, as this will be driven in the dirt. would rather use the ZF that has VSS internally.
  24. Hi Guys im doing a barra n zf into a r31 and im just putting my ducks in line. I was hoping to get a complete fg setup, but time is short so its not going to happen. now i got the chance to get a bf with zf loom but no gearbox - then i can buy a fg na gearbox with pcm or a turbo bf zf box. my understanding would be the turbo bf box would be stronger, but has no speed source and ill need to diy one into the r31 the fg zf box has its own speed source and i wont need further mods is this right, or can we get vss from BF zf's?
