  1. Ok have spent to much time looking up silly things on the internet today, but ive come here to ask the question. Is there a possibility of a BOV interup signal, say solaniod on the BOV..so when we are stalling the auto the bov is venting boost enabling higher rpm/spool on the stall? One could also you it can be used like a programmable over-boost valve to where the bov can open when you exceed a boost level...by cuting of the feed to the bov it will open.
  2. How does it go with full throttle changes? when i changed my ba na from 3.32 to 3.73 diff the auto would hit redline before changing. as the auto shift points are set based on road speed not RPM you may need to go through and adjust the high end shift points. you may want to double check cruse control still works also, ive heard diff changes play havock on that.
  3. @Roland@pcmtec when i open my territory file there is nothing in there about ZF, is this in error or the bf style zfs get controlled differently
  4. If its easy and one of you want me to buy them beer, would that also work
  5. how do i request it hahaha yeah cruse control sounds fun too, will defiantly have a play with it.
  6. Howdy. in the turbo territory, or i presume the turbo bf s2 with the ZF...can we do boost by gear-selector mode? EG, wastegate only in D, but when in performance mode run a different boost strategy?
  7. this is correct.. have done this and can confirm if you remove the stereo you will lose the dash as it has the can link from ecu to dash. im sure if you find the can wires and join them it might work, but i just put my sterio back in.
  8. When i changed my diff from 3.23 to 3.73 my car was hitting rev limiter on gear-change, i had to change the auto shift points. Make sure the Spark tables go above one. i believe the turbo BA goes to 1.4 load and the na .9 ....if your turboing an NA motor you might want to go to town removing spark from the map to...at least until it get professionally tuned. double check your injector setting match the ones your fitting & proberly go through he fuel map and match-up a turbo map and then add some fuel - once again until its on a dyno.
  9. ^so keen for data log.
  10. My Ba seems to only stall up to around 2k, while at a standstill and on the brake. It also wont break traction at the rears, i assume there is a torque limiting function coming into affect.
  11. Mathew, I have a Na ecu controlling my NA+T Ba Falcon - using changes in PCMtech and a external boost control system. the na ecu wont do boost control but you still need to setup the desired boost table otherwise the ecu will still put your into torque limiting tables if you exceed the expected boost by to much. At minimum my NA to turbo conversion only required the MAP data changed along with the injector data...but you will want to do a compare of all the other main tables as mentioned and copy them over. The spark tables will also go into a higher load area from the turbo to the NA, so they are larger - unless you know what your doing id be cautious witht he spark tables and take a decent amount of spark out of the motor when its on boost. but gl and have fun!
  12. Hi Mate, cheers for that, if you were local to me id buy you a beer. Been having some fun with the shift points today and im verry happy with the results. your not wrong about the shift taking some time. my first gear shifts are now triggered at 4850 RPM and will tip the RPM gauge at 5800/5900 rpm. when i had them triggerd at 5k the would just touch the limiter....now they are smooth and the car accelerates perfectly..this is only a stock Na with 2.5inch exhaust and 3.7 rear gears. my biggest complaint about the falcon was how quickly it loved to change into second, and given how long first gear is it really needed to stay in it more... ive left the bottom end of the shift points and moved the middle up and the top to a point where we dont hit redline and bloody hell the car feels so much better to drive now. its not sluggish or trying to do everything in second, it will hold 1st so you can do a start on a corner then accelerate out without going 1st-2nd then back to first. verry happy with how its all going.
  13. Background, changed diff ratio from 3.23 to 3.73. I have already updated the axel ratio fields. So ive spend some time today playing with the shift schedule table. i would love to know whats the axis mean, i assume the far left is throttle? anyway, i banged in the shift schedule from the car that came out with the diff ratio i changed to, the numbers were slight higher (stock 5200 ba turbo 5600).... the car still hit redline on change. I changed all the shift schedules to the same table and then went about playing. I found when my max values were something like 4700, the car would change gears around 5700 rpm and no longer bash redline.
  14. I have changed my daily Ute from the 3.23 m78 open to the 3.73 m86 LSD diff. In PCMTECH i adjusted (2 from memory) settings that had the diff ratio. However the change from 1-2 will hit redline before changing on full throttle. I understand the falcon does gear changes based on wheel speed not RPM. I also noticed while locked in 3rd towing it wont lock the converter anymore. I have been pretty lazy with it, but i was going to find a ba turbo strat and compare the gearbox information, as they are standard with that diff. Ill follow this thread and see how you go with yours, keen to hear what works for you.
  15. nope, i'm having trouble reading my own writing. i'm sure the guys at PCMTECH can blend boost maps based on ETH percentage, as they have shown this ability with the timing maps. My comment regarding boost - Assuming your running standard ECU to control boost - obviously with a standalone controller this will be harder to integrate.
  16. im sure if the PCMTECH guys can do the custom OS thing to use the eth content sensor the blend the boost control map in the same way it does the timing map? - amusing your using the standard computer to do the boost control.
  17. ahhh so your talking more about having boost levels managed by the ethanol content in the tank, sounds lot less complicated than the duel fuels and injecting e85 above low boost i thought you were trying for. all good.
  18. How would you keep the fuels separate? if you mix in e85 froma secionddary tank during boost, its going to go back to the main tank as part of the return system? Are you perhaps thinking a second set of injectors and a separate e85 fuel system - activated on higher boost levels? Or do what the Japs used to do back in the verry early 90's and install a 7th injector in the intake track to inject extra fuel? similar to a wet nos setup?
  19. My 5 speed manual Ba XT ute had the speed sensor in the gearbox + no abs or wheel speed sensors. It was the same VSS that was in my mates AU manual, its possibly a generic VSS for the older models. The newer models pull the speedo from the abs/wheel sensors afaik. When i put a turbo 5 speed box in it i needed to use the na box rear extension housing to retain the mount for it, as the turbos all use the abs sensors for speed. none of the 6 speed manual boxes come with a mount for the speed sensor afaik.
  20. Datalogging is now close to release. Expect to see our preliminary datalogger soon. - keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
  21. Hi Roland, is it possible to reset all trim data using the software, so you can them preform your data log straight away?
  22. Just went and fixed all the brake light situation, as a forum post said no cruse control without working brake lights - still no go. http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67281117-Early-BA-Falcon-Ute-questions is that any help, i cant see anything in that subsection that is obvious
  23. Howdy today i decided to fix the clock spring in the daily, it only been a year - but who's counting. anyway its a base model XT BA falcon ute. I have since added the cruise control buttons to the steering wheel and the different brake sensor that is apparently required for cruise control. The cruise control does not work, so i went in PCMTECH to see whats up. auF0390 - Cruise Control Switch - is set to 1 (Hardware present switch for Vehicle Speed Control system (Cruise Control)) Stock is one so i figgure its right, or?
